NO POSTS = VERY BUSY!
Lest anyone think that my absence from this blog bodes not well, I am happy to report that all is copacetic. I'm busy with work and non-work and seriously need more hours in the day. I wish everyone a happy Chanukah and/or a Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy 2010. Now that we are soon to be out of the 2-syllable '01 through '09 phase, how weird is it going to be to say, "Oh, I'll wait until '10." It looks fine in print but to hear and say that, strange!

NY/CT/NJ FREELANCER
A little levity and a chance to see how I would handle an impossible situation. Faced with a similar scenario, I would choose court reporter No. 3 as my role model.

MARGE TEILHABER BIO
I am an independent freelance court reporter covering depositions and arbitrations in Manhattan, New Jersey, Connecticut, Westchester, and Long Island.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Bachelor’s degree in business education from Rider College (now Rider University)
Master’s degree in business education from Montclair State College (now Montclair State University)
REPORTING LICENSES
RDR, New Jersey CSR, Connecticut LSR
Notary in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut
WORK HISTORY
Taught high school immediately after getting bachelor's degree. After teaching during the day and being a court reporter at night, I took a leave of absence from teaching to begin a full-time court reporting career, spending 20 years with one agency (now defunct) and since then working independently, covering work for many agencies and law firms. Call me for more details.
I accept only all-day depositions and arbitrations. I don't offer interactive realtime but can highly recommend someone who does. I've covered cases in many areas of law including securities, construction, IP, patent, trademark, insurance, employment, and medical malpractice. Rough draft and expedited delivery is of course often part of the equation. I work in Manhattan, Fairfield County in Connecticut, Westchester, a lot of Long Island, and central and northern New Jersey.

NEW YORK COURT REPORTER
If you are coming to New York for depositions or arbitrations, call an experienced professional. You will get friendly service and impeccable work. I am independent freelance court reporter and would be happy to cover your work when you're coming to my neck of the woods. I can help you find a conference room or a videographer. I can recommend good restaurants! I also am licensed in New Jersey and Connecticut so please check with me to see if I go to the town where your location is.
I am not an agency in any way, shape, or form. When you call me to cover a dep or arb for you, it is Marge Teilhaber (me) who will show up and no one else. However, I do use an agency for production, billing, and distribution so rest assured that any service that any large agency can provide you, I can do the same as an independent freelancer.
